Materials

Wool: Wool carpets are typically higher in price than synthetic options and offer many added benefits. Wool carpets provide a combination of beauty and durability that repel dirt and stains due to the tightly packed fibers.

Nylon: Nylon is the most common carpet material due to being a very strong fiber. Nylon carpet is easy to maintain, resists soil, mildew, and is non-allergenic.

Olefin: Olefin carpet is highly resistant to moisture, mildew, and even water damage. Olefin is very durable and can be used outdoors in some environments.

Polyester: Although not quite as durable as nylon, polyester is a popular option due to its wide variety of colors and textures to choose from.

Acrylic: Acrylic carpeting is the closest to wool in its durability and performance of any synthetic carpet material. It resists soil, mildew and even UV damage, and is used in many commercial environments.

Types of Carpet

Cut Pile: Cut pile carpets are cut evenly at a certain height allowing for an even texture and appearance.

Loop Pile: Yarns are looped and fastened back at the carpet base. Loop pile carpets are more durable than cut pile carpets.

Cut & Loop: A combination of the above allowing more texture and pattern choices. Cut and loop can have varying levels of carpet, enhancing the texture of the finished design.

Carpet Tiles: Carpet tile is easy to install and provides for flexible design options.

Carpet Padding

Padding is a critical factor in the comfort and durability of your carpet. Choose the right amount of padding for your carpet, as different carpets require specific amounts of padding.

Commercial Carpet

When buying commercial carpet, be sure to select a commercial grade carpet and the correct padding for your application. Heavy traffic, stairs and work areas may all require specific padding for safety, comfort and durability requirements.
